What is the Foundation's purpose?
The Foundation raises and distributes funds to improve emergency
response services in counties of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas,
Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity. More than $3,000,000 worth of
equipment and training has been distributed or is scheduled to be distributed.
Who benefits from the Foundation?
The Foundation exists for all of us who at some time may need emergency response services. More than 50,000 people in the region receive treatment from ambulance services each year. In 1999, some 5,256 people were injured and 134 died in traffic-related collisions.
What has the Foundation done to improve emergency services?
Equipment distributions include more than 150 automated external defibrillators, hydraulic auto extrication equipment, airway management equipment, immobilization backboards, fire suits and antidotes for allergic reactions. Training programs include those for AED use, auto extrication techniques, and pediatric emergency response.
